4th Grade
Mrs. Christina Whiteaker
Thanks to the parents (and grandparent) who chaperoned our field trip last week! The students made me very proud and represented our school with wonderful behavior! I will miss this group of students very much next year, and you should all be proud of these kids!
As the year winds down, we are working on typing plays, as well as writing speeches. The speech topic is a game. Students will be teaching other students to play a game (a good topic with summer and lots of free time on the
(continued on next page)
way), and they need to have a visual aid to go with their speech. Most of the work should be done in class as long as students are using their time wisely.
In Math, we will be starting chapter 23 this week (adding and subtracting fractions.) In Social Studies, we will be studying chapter 12 which covers the state government and how a bill becomes a law, as well as elections! In Science, we will work on chapter 10, matter.
Spelling words this week: burrow, furnace, concert, lantern, thirsty, disturb, alert, perhaps, purchase, nervous, modern, capture, merchant, survive, concern, service, eastern, whirlwind, surprise, persuade.
Have a great week!
God's Blessings,
Mrs. Whiteaker
