Admission Information

St. James Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.

You can enroll your child by applying at the school office for admittance. Christian education is open to all children. Only when facilities are overcrowded or when there is a question as to our ability to serve the child effectively, are restrictions placed on the admittance of a child.

Financial aid grants are based on demonstrated financial need, after an admission decision has been made. Financial need is NOT a factor in admission.

Before admittance to Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten, a completed health examination must be submitted. Also, physical examinations must be submitted before competitive sports participation.

2 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL The child should be two years old on or before August 1st of the year of entrance in order to attend the fall semester.
3 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL The child should be three years old on or before August 1st of the year of entrance in order to attend the fall semester.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN The child should be four years old on or before August 1st of the year of entrance in order to attend the fall semester.
KINDERGARTEN The child must be five years old on or before August 1st of the year of entrance in order to attend the fall semester.
FIRST GRADE The child should be six years old on or before August 1st of the year of entrance in order to attend the fall semester. If the child has completed kindergarten at another school and has met all other requirements, the child may enter the first grade, even if the child is not six by August 1st. The student will meet with school staff and will be given a readiness evaluation for first grade.
SECOND THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE The child should have satisfactory completion of the prior grade in order to attend the fall semester. . Student records are required (last report card and latest standardized scores). Math and reading evaluations and a writing sample may be collected during the student’s visit.
