BOARD OF EVANGELISM

Proclaim the Gospel to all people, encourage evangelism in other programs/societies/auxiliary organizations.

Prayer toward all people, sharing Christ with everyone, annual visitation program

Emphasize an every-member education program annually.

Utilize “The Lutheran Hour”, “This is the Life”, and other Synodical or Christian programs.
-
Canvass areas to record, study, and utilize results in churching the lost and straying.

Maintain a training and calling program for witnessing by members of the congregation.

Periodically sponsor dinners, fellowship nights, etc.

Supervise the Lutheran Laymen’s League and the Lutheran Women in Mission.

Evaluate and recommend changes for base hourly wages and changes in benefit plan.

BOARD OF ELDERS

Pray for, encourage, be concerned about all aspects of the pastors and their families including compensation, housing, free time, vacation, and assistance in times of need or illness.

Supervise the instruction of youth and adults for confirmation and church membership.

Oversee the financial management and budget of the church.
-
Supervise/help manage the organists, altar guild, altar flowers, acolytes, chancel decorations, visitation committee, ushering staff, and greeting staff.

Assist the pastors in the distribution of communion.
-
Approve new forms of worship, liturgies, and hymns for use in public worship.
-
Maintain an adequate supply of expendable items for worship such as communion cards, pencils, communion wine, wafers, baptismal napkins, candles, etc.

BOARD OF PARISH EDUCATION

Plan, schedule, and implement classes on a quarterly basis for religious study on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.

Assist the D.C.E. in recruiting and staffing the classes offered for each quarter and with Vacation Bible School program.

Monitor enrollments and curriculum of Sunday school classes.

Plan and implement special celebrations throughout the church year.

Maintain and increase the number of small group ministries within the congregation.

BOARD OF STEWARDSHIP

Encourage the Gospel motivated practice of joyous, worshipful, liberal, proportionate, first-fruits giving, and tithing in response to received blessings and recognized needs.

Educate the congregation on practical ways to support the Church and expand sources of financial support.

Examination of the budget and cash flow.
-
Connect people’s time and talent to interests within the Church.
-
Coordinate all fund raising activities within the Church and School, and to screen all outside appeals for funds so to make appropriate recommendations to the Voters Assembly.

Evaluate the offerings of the congregation regularly and share these evaluations publicly.

BOARD OF YOUTH MINISTRY

Assist the D.C.E. to promote, exemplify, and provide opportunities for the youth to integrate into congregational worship life and fellowship.

Communicate to the congregation the activities, programs, and services that the youth is involved in or providing.

Foster an attitude that the Youth Ministry is “for the youth, by the youth” in order to create a sense of ownership within the youth group.

BOARD OF CHURCH PROPERTIES
The basic objectives of this board are the proper maintenance and repair of church property, the representation of the
congregation in all legal matters, and the general protection of the congregation against loss or damage of whatever
nature.
