PPC Meeting Minutes



Attending:  Chris Rowan, Heather Brooks, Jenn Sterret, Nancy Sattler, Mike O'Donnell, Jerry Ripke, Pastor Heckert, Chris Northington, Jake Rogers, Julie Grott, Pastor French

PF moved to accept October Minutes, MD 2nd, motion passed, minutes passed

Unsung Servant - Jen Sterret and Chris Northington for work with the BUsiness Office, NS moved, JR 2nd, motion passed

New Business 

BOE created Marketing Committee

Dave Sattler & Jacob Griffin would like to assist

Why St. James?

Ideas requested for how Can we reach out

Goal is to fill school house

Will require professional talent & funds

Targeted to specific groups - families w/ children + all others

Volunteers still needed

Financial Report

Getting caught up with November deposits

All bills are paid

83K in checking acct

Need laptop for Jenn - JR to call Rich to come set up

Jan - Mar will be tight

Normal Christmas season activities


EC Director’s Report

PPC approval sought for new EC parent handbook

PF moved to approve, HB 2nd, motion passed


Principal’s Report

Knee deep in accreditation

Advent & Christmas programs are completed

MLK Day - Faith, LC, LCSS will come together in support of Choice Scholarships

Parents & students wrote letters to state rep’s in support of Choice Scholarships

All are encouraged to write letters, come to event on 2/20 @ 6:30 PM @ North End Community Center, pizza served

Elder’s Report

Ready for Christmas Eve

Working on non-active list - out of towners

Sending a letter

Mid year will work on in towners


Evangelism Report

8 people caroling - needed to start planning earlier

Handed out Christmas cards with note

More homebound people who do not identify as shut in than on our list

Project Connect - Dr. Yocum putting out at his office


HR Report

New business mgr started 12/2 - Marietta Smith

I 9 effort - Steve BErman has 10 employees left to complete form

Employee evaluations to be completed annually by Mar 1

Review job description at this time with employee


Parish Education Report

Did not meet in Dec.due to illness

Janna Minarjez stepping down as superintendent - job promotion

Talk with Ruth O’Connor

Pastor Barton teaching new class in cafeteria on Mormonism


Stewardship Report - no report


Youth Board Report

Several events planned

Pokagon tobogganing

Jr. & Sr High gym night

Sr High attending SS and Ruth’s dinner

Serve at 4:30 Christmas Eve service as actors
