Music is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. At St. James, we provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn about music and use their musical abilities to glorify God.
The curriculum for music includes the following:
- Music classes based on Stepping Stones: An Ecumenical Children’s Choir Curriculum
Playing pitched and unpitched instruments
Singing
Movement and dance
Improvisation and composition
Listening activities
- Recorder Ensembles
- Choirs for all grade levels
- Band
- Handbell and Handchime Choirs
Special Activities and Performances include:
- ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest (Choir and Band)
- Pep Band
- Lutheran Schools Fine Arts Festival in Indianapolis (Choir and Band)
- 2009 Jeff H.S. Holiday Show (Handbell Choir)
