St. James Foundation

What is the St. James Foundation?

The St. James Foundation has been established by members of the congregation to be a special blessing to the congregation's ministries as St. James moves forward in faith!
Legacies, inheritances and special gifts are kept in this fund for the special needs of the congregation.  Often capital needs, land acquisition and other unique ministry opportunities are supported from these funds!  It is the spiritual caretaker of many sacrificial gifts designated to its care.

Is that the same as St. James Church?

The St. James Foundation is a separate corporation from the congregation.  Its funds are held and used separately from the operating budget of the congregation.
It operates with its own Board of Directors elected by the congregation.  While it is closely aligned with the mission of St. James Lutheran Church, it is a separate entity.

What has the Foundation funded in the Past?

The St. James Foundation has helped the congregation acquire land for its work, been a generous supporter of capital improvement and expansion, aided in supporting special mission efforts of the congregation and underwritten unique training opportunities for the professional staff of the congregation.  It has also funded scholarships for many day school children and most recently offered assistance to St. James members who attend synodical schools.  Through the years it has carefully served as a trusted steward of generous gifts from members of the congregation.

Memorial and Honor Gifts

The death of an individual causes us to reflect on the special moments and the cumulative achievements of a lifetime.  We may honor the memory and pay tribute to the individual by encouraging friends to contribute to St. James Foundation in his or her name.  Memorial contributions continue the work or special interest of a loved one by funding current or future worthwhile projects and ministries.
Contributions to St. James Lutheran Foundation also may be used to honor loved ones and friends during their lifetimes.  Gifts may commemorate a special event or acknowledge some special achievement or blessing.

Gift Designation

Contributions may be made to any area of the church, school, school programs and more.  When a specific area is not identified, memorial and honor gifts are placed in the Foundation "general fund" account.

Your Contribution

Please make your checks for memorial and honor gifts payable to the St. James Foundation.  Also indicate on the check the name of the individual being honored or in whose memory the contribution is made.  Checks can be handed into the church office.  All donors are acknowledged by the Foundation.  Names and addresses of donors are sent also to the family of the deceased or honoree.
