2nd Grade News

Hip, Hip, Hooray for the last week of school!  Thank you for the blessing of working with your children this school year.  We have had a wonderful second grade year together.  Have a super summer with your child and God's blessings in third grade next school year!

Thank you to our chaperones who went with us to the Columbian Park Zoo on Friday, May 18:  Mrs. Mitchell, Ms. Vander Plaats, Mrs. Rosi, Mr. Lucies, Mrs. Shipley, and Mr. Forsythe.
AR Shell We Read? FINAL Quiz Count:  821 AR Quizzes . . . WOW!  The second graders had an amazing year as readers!

Dates for your Calendar:

Monday, May 21:  Student Recognition/Awards Ceremony at 1:30 P.M. in the church sanctuary.  Parents are invited and welcome to attend.

Tuesday, May 22:  Cold Lunch is needed on Tuesday.  Kona Ice for a 2019 Auction Fundraiser.  Please send in money with your second grader if they are choosing to purchase Kona Ice, $2.00-$5.00 cup sizes.  Please send in an extra bag on Tuesday for cleaning out our desks and taking our things home.

Wednesday, May 23:  Cold Lunch is needed on Wednesday.  Last Day of School; Bicycle Day; Get Air.  Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to chaperone/drive on Wednesday.  We are counting on you.  We will leave St. James at 11:45 and return at 2:15.  Please bring your jump socks on Wednesday if you have some.

Please remember to check the home binder, ClassDojo chart, and sign the student planner nightly.  Please don't hesitate to email, call, or stop in the classroom if you have any questions.

Religion:  Unit 9 Assessment; School Theme

Spelling:  The words are all bonus words that can only help a student's spelling grade.  We will have one test this week on Tuesday:  Nate, Joe, Naomi, Baylee, Madison, Nicholas, Laura, Wyatt, Bailey, Will, Leighton, Julianne, Morgan, Marshall, Lincoln, Skye, Gabriel, Mrs. Arden.
