At St. James, we love to come together as a family of God for special events like these ...

Women's Christmas Potluck Dinner

Ladies of St. James, join us in the cafeteria for a comfy, cozy night
of food and fellowship as we celebrate the Christmas season!
Wear your favorite Christmas sweater: blingy, ugly, sophisticated ...
whatever makes you comfy!
There is no cost for this event, but a goodwill donation would be appreciated.

Please RSVP HERE and let us know what food or beverage item you will be bringing to the potluck dinner in the "My Comment" field. Thank you!

Fellowship Communion

Do you like to eat and have fun?

Well, of course! Then it's time to get out of the house and attend Fellowship Communion at St. James on Wednesday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m.

We will meet in the sanctuary to rejoice in God’s Word, then head over to the fellowship hall to enjoy a nutritious lunch (cost $5.00), fellowship, and Bingo or other games! You can come for the service only, stay for lunch (carryout available), or stay and visit without eating. You could have a beverage and dessert only, if that makes you happy. Please contact Janet Clark at 464-6015 for lunch reservations or if you need a ride. This is a great opportunity to socialize with friends and make new friends. All are welcome. See you there!

Life Line Screening Event

Life Line Screening, the nation’s leading provider of preventive health screenings, will offer affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings at Saint James Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

A package of five screenings to identify risk for stroke, heart disease and other chronic conditions will be offered:

  1. Carotid Artery Screening (Plaque) - An ultrasound is performed to screen the carotid arteries (a pair of blood vessels in the neck that deliver blood to your brain) for buildup of fatty plaque. This buildup, called atherosclerosis, is one of the leading causes of stroke.
  2. Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening - An Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) test is performed using blood pressure cuffs on the arms and legs.
It is important to screen for PAD because it increases the risk of coronary artery disease, heart attack, or stroke.
  3. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) - An ultrasound is performed to screen the abdominal aorta for the presence of an enlargement or aneurysm. AAA can lead to a ruptured aortic artery, which is a serious medical emergency.
  4. Atrial Fibrillation - A 6-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) is performed by placing sensors on the arms and legs to screen for Atrial Fibrillation. AFib can lead to blood clots, stroke, and heart failure, and other heart-related complications.
  5. Osteoporosis Risk - An ultrasound is performed to measure the shin bone for abnormal bone mass density. This can help assess the risk of osteoporosis, a disease where bones become weak and brittle.

These 5 vital screenings are offered for only $139 and take 60-90 minutes to complete.
