Visit the Star Lab at St. James
What looks like a big blob that has just invaded our gym is actually a unique way to present astronomy to students in grades K-8! The Star Lab is a portable planetarium that comes yearly to St. James Lutheran School. Teachers trained in using the Star Lab present programs appropriate for all age levels and help students appreciate the night sky on a variety of levels.
In the lower grades, the Star Lab is used as an introduction to astronomy. In the upper grades, the Star Lab is used to teach planetary movement, the celestial sphere and scientists’ ability to track astronomical events.
We look forward to having Star Lab at our school every May. It’s a GREAT way to close out our school year and prepare for summer stargazing.
