| Parent of St James Students | Why St. James? … that is a question I have been asked a multitude of times this year by family and friends. As my husband and I were trying to determine where are two daughters, Haley and Kiley would attend Kindergarten and 1st grade this fall, we had more questions than answers.
- Do we send them to our county school in Warren County which is 45 miles away from where each of us work?
- Do we send them to TSC or West Lafayette School Corporation?
- Do we send them to a private school? If so, which one?
- Where would they be most successful?
- Where would they feel most comfortable?
- What would allow them to grow both personally and academically?
- As a working mom - where would they have a safe and nurturing after school program?
Like I said more questions than answers.
At the same time all of these questions were going unanswered, I began a spiritual and personal journey to re-establish my relationship with Christ – which brought me and my family to St. James. Instantly, with the support of friends, who were already members, my family and I felt an immediate connection to the church. Each Sunday we were greeted with friendly welcomes, “good mornings” and smiles. As my girls began attending Sunday School they were immediately made to feel both welcomed and loved – it was amazing.
As each Sunday passed I began to ask myself … “what about St. James School?” I began to bombard my friends, new and old, whose children attended St. James, with questions …why, what, when, how, etc…. After months of pestering everyone, and I do mean everyone, with questions, we made the decision to enroll both girls at St. James and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our decision.
From the outstanding academics to the loving and caring teachers and families, the great afterschool program and personnel, extracurricular activities, spiritually fulfilling environment and outstanding leadership - we could not ask for more. Everyday my kids are encouraged to be the best person they can be. From Principal Strakis, taking the time to get to know my kids, to each teacher being personally committed to their “whole” well being - is priceless.
We are truly blessed to have our children in a school that creates a highly engaged and successful learning environment while nurturing their spiritual and personal growth.
