What is Three for Me?

Welcome to another exciting year at St. James!

We are thrilled to welcome our new and returning students and parents, and proud to introduce one of our new programs…Three for Me.  Parent Groups have long realized the parent involvement necessary to increase children’s success at school.  We encourage every parent, grandparent, and any adult that is involved in a child’s life, to participate in the Three for Me program.

THREE FOR ME…is a promise.  A promise not only from you, but also to your child his or her school.  You promise to volunteer three hours per semester of your time at or on behalf of the school to your child by signing a Three for Me promise card.  Whether it is making copies for a teacher, reading to children, filing books on the shelves, helping at a PTL event, or dozens of other opportunities, it’s all important and it all counts.

Our Volunteer Committee will track the volunteer hours of every parent.  That means moms, dads, grandparents, foster parents, or any adult that is involved in a child’s life.  Once you reach your three hours of volunteerism each semester, we will mark your achievement by placing your name on our “Walk of Fame” in the cafeteria of the school.  In addition, at the end of the school year, we will send home a Three for Me Certificate with your name.

There are several ways for you to log your volunteer hours.  You can do this by…

1.     Signing in and out of the Three for Me book in the office whenever you come to school to volunteer.

2.     Logging onto to your page at our Three for Me website (www.three4me.ptomanager.com) and logging your hours.

3.     Filling out the monthly tally sheet that will be attached to the monthly PTL newsletter, and sending it back to school with your child.

4.     Signing in at any after school activity, whether you’re volunteering to help at the event, or just attending.

Our motto, “a little volunteering goes a long way…” really means a lot when we look at the number of total volunteer hours at the end of the school year.  Once you reach your goal, you may realize how much you enjoyed volunteering, and would like to continue.  You are certainly welcome to volunteer more than your promise of 6 total hours.

Make this simple promise to your children to volunteer three hours per semester (six for the whole school year), follow through, and show them how much you care about their school.  Sign the promise card and open the door to your child’s school today.
