Pastor Bombaro will flesh out the theology of self-giving through gift-giving, that is, that when we give a gift to someone we actually give it as an extension of ourselves. Within the dynamics of the Holy Trinity, God gives Himself to us as what is best for us, to redeem us, and to enlarge His own glory in the world. This is what Christmas is all about, and it manifests itself through our own celebratory gift-giving, which is a participation in the Divine self-giving. Join us for Mass at 8:00 or 10:30 a.m.
Caroling is so much fun and brings so much joy to those we carol to. This is THE activity to really put you in the Christmas spirit! We will meet in the cafeteria at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, and be on our way by 2:15 so that we can be back in the cafeteria for treats and hot chocolate around 4:00. We sing the first verse of familiar Christmas carols to our elderly and homebound. This will warm many hearts, including yours! Please join us!
Seniors, do you like to eat and have fun? Well, of course! Then it’s time to get out of the house and attend Fellowship Communion at St. James! We will meet next in the sanctuary on Wednesday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. to rejoice in God’s Word, then head over to the fellowship hall to enjoy a nutritious lunch (cost $5.00) and fellowship. Please contact Janet Clark at 464-6015 for lunch reservations. This is a great opportunity to socialize with friends and make new friends. All are welcome!Â
It’s a COOKIE CAPER because this is a steal!
Haven’t had time to bake those Christmas cookies? Need a little something to give away? Sweet tooth doesn’t want to wait until Christmas? Here’s the deal — On Sunday, December 22 right after both church services in the fellowship hall, you will find dozens of homemade cookies waiting to be bought and brought home for your Christmas culinary pleasure. You may pick out a dozen cookies for $6. This is a first come–first serve offer until we run out.
