Happy Valentine's Day!  Enjoy the day sharing God's love with others.

Please keep your "eyes peeled" for information regarding the second grade class auction projects.  The second graders will be creating one handmade project for the live auction and a silent auction item.  The St. James Crusader Gala Dinner and Auction is Saturday, April 21, 2018.

AR Shell We Read? Quiz Count:  497 AR Quizzes . . . Hip, Hip, Hooray!  We only need 3 more quizzes to reach our 500 goal.

Dates for your Calendar:

Wednesday, February 14:  Second Grade Valentine's Day Party.  We will enjoy a snack and open valentines for our "party".  Thank you for the donations for our second grade class Valentine's Day party.  If you have signed up to donate food, drinks, or paper products for our party, please send those items in on Wednesday, February 14.  If your child is planning to share valentines, please send valentines for everyone in our class (17 students). 

February 14-16:  Book Fair

Monday, February 19 and Tuesday, February 20:  Parent/Teacher Conferences from 3:20-8:00.

Friday, February 23:  1st and 2nd Grade Musical "100% Chance of Rain" at 6:00 P.M.

Monday, March 5:  Purdue Convocation:  Curious George:  The Golden Meatball at 10:00 A.M.  We will leave St. James at 9:15 and return by 11:30.  We will travel in an LSC bus.  Mrs. Shaffer will be our chaperone for this field trip.  Please keep your eyes peeled for a permission slip coming home soon.

Memory: Students will have a fill-in-the-blank memory quiz on Wednesday and Friday.

Spelling:  The second graders will have a pre-test on Monday and a post-test on Friday.  The spelling words are words with vowel digraphs (oo, ue, ew, ui):  too, new, fruit, blue, true, fool, suit, spoon, clue, juice, drew, flew.  The challenge words are:  mountain, prize, volcano.
