The Jr. High Youth Ministry Program is designed for youth in 6th through 8th grade. All of the youth in these grades are invited to attend the monthly activities provided for them by the Board of Youth Ministry of St. James. And please keep in mind – friends are always welcome to participate!
On Sunday mornings, the Junior High Youth Group meets for spiritual growth and enrichment in Bible Study. The Bible study takes place from 10:00 – 11:00 am in a classroom of the school.
The 7th and 8th graders of St. James also participate in confirmation classes throughout the week. Confirmation classes teach the youth the fundamental Christian concepts found in Scripture and supported by the Lutheran Church-Missiouri Synod. Instruction is provided to students attending St. James School as a part of the curriculum during the week. For 7th and 8th graders attending public schools, confirmation instruction is provided on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm during the school year.
The Junior High Youth Group also has two or more social, spiritual, or servant activities each month. These activities provide ways for the youth to engage in fun and meaningful opportunities to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, build relationships with one another, and discover that St. James will always be there for them. A description of these monthly activities is listed on this website and in the bulletin announcements on Sunday morning. Please remember that you are more than welcome to invite a friend or friends to any and all of the opportunities provided for the youth of St. James.
