Caregiver Companion - Caregiver Companion is hosting a 2023 Care Series designed for family and professional caregivers, volunteers, and anyone who takes care of a loved one who is elderly or has special needs. A series of three talks will take place throughout the year that are focused around healthy boundaries, spirituality of caregiving, and self-care. Our hope is that these talks will help caregivers understand how to better care for their own needs so they can more effectively support others in their care and draw closer to God during this often difficult phase of life.

Isaiah 117 House - When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. This wait can be a few hours to several days. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
Lafayette Youth Cafe - At the Lafayette Youth Cafe, we broadly define "recovery" to include a variety of challenges such as substance use, mental health, the pressures of school, family and friends, trauma and grief, and any other struggles life has thrown your way that are keeping you from being your best self. The Cafe is a safe and supportive place where individuals can come together to create community and begin to heal. Labels, stigma, and judgement are dropped at the door. You are welcomed and accepted for exactly who you are and exactly where you are. For more information, email Liz Richards.
